Dealing with something terrible?

My best friend and I have been friends since the first day of Kindergarten, we grew up together...When we were in the 5th grade, her mom began noticing a lump in her breast, at first, the doctor said it was nothing-and 6 months later, they found out she had Category 4 Breast Cancer...Three years later, the cancer has spread through her bones, and is now in her spine, it is slowly working its way up into her brain. Her mom is way too young to be dying of cancer, she just turned 40!! I feel horrible for my friend, tomorrow her mom goes to find out if she is going to continue Chemo/Radiation, or just stop treatments and call Hospice. How do I help my friend during this time? We're only 14, and just about to be Freshman in High School, her poor family shouldn't have to deal with something like this!
